Cornish Wine Selection

CAMEL VALLEY, BODMIN
At Camel Valley, they’ve been producing award-winning, world-class wines in a beautiful corner of Cornwall since 1989. What is it that makes their wines so good? It’s really quite simple – an idyllic setting on sun-drenched slopes near the famous Camel River; excellent grapes that perfectly suit the soil and climate; a respect for traditional vineyard practices combined with a modern approach to wine making and, most importantly, a passion for creating wines that provide pure pleasure.
Their unique tours are relaxed and friendly and the location is stunning; sitting on the terrace sipping Camel Valley wine on a summer’s afternoon is magical. You’ll find their attitude refreshingly down to earth – there’s no snobbery, just a deep and enthusiastic love of wine that you’ll find infectious.

KNIGHTOR, ST AUSTELL
The winery at Knightor was fully equipped in time to handle the grape harvest in October 2011. Grapes are predominantly whole berry to give the highest quality juice. Fermentation is in a mixture of fixed and variable capacity stainless steel tanks, with some vintages being aged in French oak barrels.
Wine maker – James Thomas – Hailing from the Isles of Scilly where he helped to establish his family’s vineyard, he moved to Australia to pursue his vocation and learn the latest New World techniques. Most recently making wine for a leading producer of premium quality, limited production vintages in the Melbourne area, he blends a New World approach with classic European methods to produce exciting, fresh and complex wines.
